Federal Home Loan Bank: Missouri Member Impact Fund
The minimum amount of giving is $2,500 and goes up to $100,000 per member bank that would then be matched by FHLB through this funding application that opens on May 18th. Please reach out if you have any questions or if we can help with making any connections.
I’m reaching out because there may be a funding opportunity that could be a strong fit for your organization’s work. There has been a lot of interest lately in boosting private‑sector investment to support recovery and long‑term rebuilding in the tornado‑impacted areas, and we want to make sure organizations like yours are aware of resources that could help advance the projects you’re leading or planning.
A new funding opportunity may be a good fit for groups like yours. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines is opening the Missouri Member Impact Fund on May 18th. It’s a matching grant program where nonprofits can receive up to $3 for every $1 contributed by an FHLB member bank. Funds can support things like:
Affordable housing development or preservation
Neighborhood revitalization
Community development projects
Capacity building or working capital for mission‑driven work
The grant is only available to Missouri-based projects, and applications must be submitted by an FHLB member bank in partnership with a nonprofit. If you think this funding could support your work, the next step is to reach out directly to one or more of these member banks. You can:
Express your interest in receiving Missouri Member Impact Fund dollars
Share a brief description of the project(s) you hope to fund
Ask whether they would consider making a financial contribution, which FHLB would then match at a 3:1 ratio
FHLB member banks examples include: Enterprise Bank & Trust, Great Southern Bank, Southern Bank, Commerce Bank, St. Louis Community Credit Union, Midwest BankCentre and others.
This early outreach helps banks understand community needs and positions your organization for a stronger application once the fund opens. If you’re working in the tornado‑impacted zone or have projects that align with these priorities, I’d be glad to connect and talk through whether this could be a helpful resource for your organization.
