OUR STORY

WE’RE A COMMUNITY OF COMMUNITY BUILDERS.

On September 29, 2011, over 30 nonprofit community building organizations came together at the Old North Restoration Group’s headquarters in Crown Square to strengthen our region’s neighborhoods and in turn strengthen the entire region.

With support from the University of Missouri- St. Louis Des Lee Creating Whole Communities Initiative and the Regional Housing and Community Development Alliance (RHCDA), now Rise Community Development, CBN has worked with its members to foster strong community building organizations, create a strong community building system, and raise the profile of community building in the region.

Since then, CBN has grown to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with over 70 members, many of whom have been at the table since that initial meeting in 2011. The network is now supported by a team of dedicated staff, practicum students, and a 15-member Board of Directors that represent member organizations from a range of sectors and communities across the St. Louis region.
