CBN member DeSales Community Development is helping turn that vision into reality through its Vacancy Initiative. Working alongside fellow member, the St. Louis Vacancy Collaborative, DeSales supports the rehabilitation of vacant and abandoned properties by partnering with responsible developers and contractors committed to quality neighborhood revitalization.

One example is the restoration of 3432 Juniata, a formerly vacant single-family home that has been transformed into a quality residence, demonstrating the lasting impact strategic investment can have on a neighborhood.

The St. Louis Vacancy Collaborative brings together community development organizations, public agencies, and neighborhood partners to address vacancy through coordinated action. By combining resources, expertise, and local knowledge, collaborative members are helping return vacant properties to productive use, stabilize neighborhoods, and create more housing opportunities for current and future residents.
