Bank Enterprise Award Program

CDFI Fund’s Bank Enterprise Award (BEA) Program is designed for insured depository institutions (banks and thrifts) that partner with and support CDFIs and distressed communities.

Banks and savings associations that are federally insured and provide financial services, loans, investments, or other support in underserved communities or to certified CDFIs.

The BEA Program provides awards to encourage financial institutions to increase activities such as:

  • Investing in or partnering with certified CDFIs

  • Providing loans and financial services in economically distressed areas

  • Supporting affordable housing, small businesses, and community development efforts

The NOFA, application instructions, and supplemental materials provide guidance for eligible institutions applying for FY 2026 BEA Program awards, including application requirements and submission procedures.

Although CBN’s supporting members (banks/financial institutions) may be eligible, rather than CDCs directly, CDCs may benefit indirectly through stronger CDFI and bank partnerships.

The Notice of Funds Availability (NOFA), application instructions, and supplemental materials for the FY 2026 Round of the BEA Program are provided below. These materials are intended to help applicants understand how to apply for a BEA Program award.

The application materials and the requirements set forth in the NOFA are subject to change for future funding rounds. Please direct any questions to the CDFI Fund’s Help Desk at (202) 653-0421 or cdfihelp@cdfi.treas.gov.
