The Local History of Policing

https://mohistory.org/events/the-local-history-of-policing

This event is part of the Missouri Historical Society’s “How Did We Get Here?” series, which explores modern efforts to contextualize racism and anti-blackness through a historical lens.

This program will open with a brief history of St. Louis’s police system, including connections that reach back to the Civil War. Then a moderated panel of law enforcement experts will explore racism through personal and academic lenses, and discuss how it has affected policing and criminal justice up to the present day. Panelists to be announced.
