The St. Louis Association of Realtors is the largest local real estate association in the state of Missouri, one of the largest in the United States and the fifth oldest still in existence. The Association’s mission is to navigate a changing market, engage in its community, protect private-property rights, convert information to knowledge, and provide superior tools. Its vision is to be the voice for real estate in Greater St. Louis.

The organization can trace its beginnings to 1877, when the St. Louis Real Estate Exchange was founded. The National Association of Real Estate Boards was later founded in 1908, followed by the Missouri Association of Realtors several decades afterward (in 1936). Today, the Association’s goals still mirror a reflection of the visions and goals of past leadership, including the importance of unity in the real estate profession, the continuous collection of data pertinent to the real estate industry, the protection and promotion of private ownership of real property, and the institution of professional standards of practice.

The St. Louis Association of Realtors is guided by the following values:

  • Enhancing professionalism and promoting high ethical standards.
  • Advocating for and protecting private-property rights.
  • Providing superior education and member services.
  • Uniting the recognized branches of real estate.
  • Advancing the interests of real estate owners and professionals.
