Position Title:  Marketing & Development Associate

Status: Exempt (Full-time)

Position reports to: Executive Director

Positions supervised: Interns and Practicum Students, as needed

Job Summary:

The Marketing & Development Associate is responsible for leading efforts to promote the work of Prosperity Connection with clients, funders, and advocates through a variety of channels, as well as assist the Executive Director in securing funding for the organization’s sustainability.  This position provides critical support to the overall well-being of Prosperity Connection and requires the individual to be both outgoing and enthusiastic in their approach to all tasks.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with a dynamic team, as well as confidently use independent judgment to accomplish established goals.

Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for creating marketing materials (i.e. promotional flyers) and maintaining online presence through Prosperity Connection’s website, social media, newsletter, and more. Coordinates with St. Louis Community Credit Union Marketing Specialist as needed to accomplish tasks.
  1. Works cooperatively with the Executive Director and appropriate staff to identify and seek out grant/funding opportunities. Maintains a grant calendar to ensure timely completion of proposals for existing and new funding sources.
  1. Assists Executive Director in efforts to seek out, gain, and retain the financial support of individual donors via available media outlets, in-person interaction, phone, and email. Responsible for coordinating and executing efforts to recognize and thank individuals for contributions.  Works with the education team to seek out client success stories for the purpose of developing content that helps to demonstrate the impact of Prosperity Connection programming.
  1. Responsible for leading the execution of major organizational events (i.e. Partner Appreciation Breakfast) which promote awareness of Prosperity Connection and facilitate fundraising opportunities.
  2. Works with the Executive Director to seek out strategic community partnerships (private, public, and philanthropic) that create large-scale impact. Works cooperatively to outline annual development blueprint, establish strategy, and execute plan.
  1. Works cooperatively with Data & Community Resource Specialist to sync outcome/impact assessments and reporting capabilities with the expectations of funders and the Board. Supports the coordination of resources and reporting functions for grants when needed.
  1. Manages interns and practicum students throughout the year as needed. Leverages student skills for the benefit of the organization, as well as provides students with the opportunity for practical work experience related to community development, marketing, fundraising, and other applicable areas.
  1. Understands and complies with all state and federal regulations and laws.  Ensures compliance with all governing regulations especially the Bank Secrecy Act requirements.  Bank Secrecy Act knowledge will be determined by the employee’s position and responsibility.

Qualifications:

Candidates with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in social work, business, communications, communications, or a related field is desired.  Experience in program, fundraising, or other administrative management experience highly preferred.

The Marketing & Development Associate must have a thorough understanding of the offerings provided by Prosperity Connection and its partner organizations.

The candidate must be extremely professional in behavior and appearance, show initiative, willing to work a flexible schedule, and have the ability to work independently or in a team environment. In addition, the individual must also be extremely detail-oriented, possess excellent written and verbal communications skills, work well under deadline pressure, and be able to manage multiple projects at the same time.

The candidate will also possess superior grammar, proofreading and editing skills, exceptional attention to detail, and must be able to master the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Candidates with prior experience working with WordPress and Salesforce highly preferred.
