Revitalization 2000, a community development organization in The Ville, is seeking individuals to fill the following positions for their community gardening expansion project: The Ville Family Gardens. Communications Coordinator and Secretary
Time Commitment: ~10 hours/week through October 2015
Duties: The Communications Coordinator and Secretary’s   responsibilities include communicating about the project to the community, facilitating communication between project coordinators and planning committee members and maintaining the web and social media presences of the project. The person in this position must be available to attend weekly planning meetings in the evenings. Competence in web site and social media management is essential. Advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Word and Excel is also essential. The successful applicant will be personable, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Youth Coordinator

Time Commitment: ~5 hours per week through May 2015; ~10 hours per week June through October 2015

Duties: The Youth Coordinator responsibilities include planning and overseeing garden maintenance and event activities involving youth during the growing year. The coordinatoer will lead development of, recruitment for and management of youth programs. The successful applicant must have a love for working with youth, excellent planning and organizational skills, excellent verbal communication and problem-solving skills, and experience organizing and supervising youth in short and long-term projects.

Youth Assistant

Time Commitment: ~2 hours per week through May 2015; ~15 hours per week June through October 2015

Duties: The Youth Assistant will assist the youth coordinator in supervising paid and volunteer youth involved in garden maintenance and special events. Experience working with youth is required; experience with gardening is desirable but not required. Knowledge/training in cooking and nutrition is a bonus.

Event and Volunteer Planning Assistant

Time Commitment: ~3 hours per week through May 2015; ~15 hours per week June through October 2015

Duties: Assist event and volunteer coordinator in organizing volunteers for ongoing garden maintenance and planning educational and recreational events involving the garden. Advanced organizational skills and advanced oral and written communication skills are required for this position. The successful applicant must be detail-oriented, self-directed, resourceful and able to work independently.
